Full-Time ESS Analyst
Job Description
Perkins Coie LLP has an immediate opening for an E-Discovery Services & Strategy (ESS) Analyst. The ESS Analyst assists the Senior Analyst and ESS team with technical e-discovery support. The ideal candidate will provide technical litigation and e-discovery support to attorneys, clients and paralegals and ensure that relevant electronic information is organized, accurate, easily presentable, trackable, and retrievable.
This is a virtual practice group and this role has the option to be 100% remote. Flexible work schedule is highly desirable.
Essential Functions:
- Assist clients, lawyers, and paralegals with the organization of electronic information including design, development, and use of legal support software, especially data processing and database and imaging applications.
- Work with and coordinate outside database and imaging vendors, and electronic discovery vendors.
- Provide technical support on core litigation support tools. Currently these tools include: Relativity, Concordance, CaseNotebook, PowerPoint, LAW, eCapture, CaseMap, MS Access, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Load data and image files/transcripts into litigation and full-text transcript databases.
- Process data using LAW, eCapture and Relativity.
- Maintain positive contact with clients and observe confidentiality of client matters.
- Conduct and summarize results of factual research and analysis.
- Keep accurate time records.
- Prepare material for in-house and outside distribution.
- Keep track of case/matter deadlines.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide client support after business hours and on the weekend as directed by the ESS Technical Manager.
Required Skills:
Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Strong oral and written communication skills. Technical expert in the creation, organization, and maintenance of large databases. Manage full-cycle electronic case data from inception to trial or case closing. Ability to analyze a problem/project quickly and accurately, and propose out of the box solutions. Work as part of a team of analysts responsible for working with project managers, attorneys and paralegals to manage and track discovery data, process data, perform quality control, maintain case databases and produce data. Strong customer service skills. Solid technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Fluent in standard MS Office applications and ability to quickly master new litigation software.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
Education & Experience:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related database experience, or equivalent. Requires expertise in litigation support software such as Relativity and LiveNote. Litigation paralegal experience preferred but not required.
