Job Description

This position serves as the Equity, Inclusion, and Wellness Program Director for the Department of Justice and is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive strategic plans that advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellness. As the designated Equity and Inclusion Officer this position has direct access to the Office of the Attorney General. The position will serve as the Department’s chief policy and program officer for equity and inclusion programs and provides research, policy analysis and guidance to the Division of Management Services (DMS) Administrator and the Office of the Attorney General. The position will partner with the Department of Justice (DOJ) Human Resources Office as well as DOJ divisions and offices to implement and oversee strategies and initiatives surrounding equity, inclusion, and wellness.

This position will also engage leadership and employees to build a welcoming and inclusive culture, providing high level analysis and recommendations to shape and advance internal policy initiatives and will assist with the development and implementation of major policy initiatives that involve internal, and potentially external, stakeholders. This position will interact frequently with stakeholders to explain, develop, implement, or gain support for Departmental initiatives.  The position will also design or coordinate training initiatives that support the equity and inclusion goals, as well as the wellness needs of DOJ.

This position also acts as the DOJ Wellness Champion and is responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of the DOJ Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and coordination of DOJ Wellness programs. It is important for the person in this role to develop dynamic relationships across the agency to assess climate and culture and drive meaningful change to address the evolving needs of DOJ.
