POSITION SUMMARY

The Grassroots Leadership team works to ensure that families and community voices can lead the way in transforming our communities. To do this, we engage families and community members to start conversations on what matters the most to them, and to elevate their experiences to impact decision making processes.

The Equitable Community Engagement Coordinator (ECEC) is responsible for finding and implementing practical solutions that allow our team to build relationships and achieve equitable results within our organization and in our communities. The ECEC will support the Grassroots leadership team, model showing up for equity in our communities, and center every facet of our work and relationships around community voices and leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Grassroots Leadership Team Coordination

  • Determine technology solutions for the Grassroots Leadership Team and train the team on software including Asana, Salesforce, and SharePoint
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedure documents for the team’s work
  • Organize and maintain the team’s SharePoint site including upkeeping our community research workspace, maintaining naming conventions, and auditing sharing permissions
  • Oversee requests for support from the wider department to the Grassroots Leadership Team

Grassroots Organizing Fellowship

  • Find and recruit talent for each cohort of Grassroots Organizing fellows
  • Coordinate the Grassroots Fellowship Hiring Process
  • Closely accompany our cohorts of Grassroots fellows including developing and leading trainings, providing feedback on the training syllabus, and coaching fellows as they progress through the community engaged research process

Support Equitable Community Engagement Within the Promise Partnership Department

  • Oversee department-wide use and implementation of Salesforce for community engagement
  • Administrate and renew community-based research data policies and practices in collaboration with the wider Grassroots Leadership Team
  • Assist the Grassroots Leadership Team in training and coaching Promise Partnership staff on Equitable Community Engagement practices and tools
  • Manage the design, administration, and integration of community-based data into our organization’s operations, including maintaining an inventory of community-based projects
  • Be the architect, builder, and gatekeeper of our organization’s community-based research data, from drafting policies & procedures, ensuring the safe storage of data, and orienting researchers
  • Foster free and effective collaboration with other departments to come up with technology solutions that may allow us to deliver results and bridge the equity gaps experienced by community members

Community Relationships

  • Find and implement out-of-the-box strategies that center our work around the voices and experiences of the communities most-impacted by our work
  • Develop and nurture relationships with community members and partners organizations to build connections between the team and the community
  • Identify and attend community events

BENEFITS

The position is a full time, non-exempt position with full benefits. $41,300 – 58,000. Wage to commensurate with experience.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledgeable and passionate about best practices related to technology, software, and data for community-engaged work

  • Ability to relate openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to make sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems
  • Ability to articulate the vision and strategy of grassroots and community building initiatives that motivates others into action

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Community Development, Public Administration, Social Work, or a related field
  • Minimum 2 years of grassroots organizing with leadership experience a plus
  • Proficiency in English and a second language (native or foreign) relevant to our racially minoritized communities, such as Spanish, Arabic, Swahili, Somali, Nepalese, or Diné
  • Some experience with monitoring and evaluation to track and analyze field data to maximize efforts
  • Some experience in using customer relationship management databases with experience in design, development, and maintenance a plus
  • Some experience in qualitative research with experience using qualitative data analysis software a plus
  • Proven experience in designing, facilitating, and delivering outcome focused trainings or workshops
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Salesforce, Canva, Google suite, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The employee is regularly required to communicate clearly, in oral and written formats, with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. The employee must be able to transcribe, read extensively, prepare and analyze data and figures, constantly operate a computer and other standard office machinery. The employee is required to regularly travel to offsite locations to set-up presentations and displays physical and electronic forms. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push and/or pull objects weighing up to 50lbs.
