Full-Time Environmental Systems Crew Leader
Job Description
The Environmental Systems Crew Leader in the Portland Bureau of Transportation-Maintenance Operations Group-Environmental Systems section is responsible for providing leadership and participating in the work of a crew engaged in repairing various types of sanitary and storm sewer system piping by shoring and excavating trenches, shafts and by using trenchless technology. Work involves constructing new sanitary and storm sewer mains, manholes, and other major sewer components to replace defective existing structures and installing and maintaining erosion and sediment control devices.
What you’ll get to do:
- Oversee a crew of skilled and semi-skilled workers and equipment operators at a work site
- Supervise and lead the excavation and safe shoring of trenches, and shafts
- Use independent judgment in selecting sewer system repair methods, including repairing and maintaining drainage ditches, culverts, trash racks and sedimentation ponds.
- Respond to emergency calls on a rotational basis
