Full-Time Engineering Technician III – NEW HIGHER PAY!
Job Description
- Serve as our project inspector on roadway and structure projects for the Aberdeen Resident Engineer’s Office.
- Conduct independent moderate to complex inspections.
- Perform sampling, materials testing, and analyze engineering-related data.
- Supervise junior Technicians and contractors.
- Perform highway construction surveying and layout.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting highway construction plans.
- Experience planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.
- Customer service experience solving problems involving explaining complicated engineering concepts to customer groups.
- Experience applying engineering concepts to solve complex problems and working in a team environment to complete assignments.
- Ability to complete daily dairies, sample cards, asphalt report, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System(NPDES) reports, material received forms, survey notes, and monthly estimates.
- Working knowledge of construction related math calculations, electronic equipment, and computers.
- Knowledge and understanding of NCDOT concepts, practices, and theories.
- Strength and agility to lift and carry at least 50 pounds and traverse rough terrain.
- Safety Toe Shoes.
- You will be exposed to high traffic volumes, work at heights over water/traffic, and extreme temperatures.
- Your work may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related field, and
- 3+ years of relevant technician experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
