Full-Time Engineering Survey Technician – Entry Level!
Job Description
- Perform technical work supporting senior technicians and engineers in route location surveying.
- Do standardized and non-standardized tasks and assignments compiling, analyzing, computing, editing, and processing field data.
- Apply mature decision making and good judgment.
- Perform calculations and computations.
- Work inside and outside in all environmental conditions.
- Work as a part of an engineering survey crew under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers.
- Perform basic field and office technical assignments relating to highway route location survey projects.
- Operate survey instruments, CADD. and computer applications in surveying, creating plan sheets, and creating/managing survey data, including hydraulic surveys, complex horizontal alignments and setting photogrammetric controls, property condemnation, and Global Positioning System (GPS) field work.
- Operate Electronic Engineering Survey and CADD equipment.
- Complete Courthouse research.
- Maintain safety of self, the team, and the worksite.
- Demonstrated ability to verbally communicate technical information, including via handheld radio.
- Computer skills to perform basic internet tasks, such as online property searches.
- Basic math skills in geometry, trigonometry, and algebra.
- Demonstrated ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member in less complex assignments, such as collecting data or photogrammetric/topographical features in the field for plan sheet preparation.
- Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or a related field; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
