What We Can Achieve Together:
The Engagements Manager is the point person leading efforts and implementing tactics for various functional units to engage with external audiences. This also includes being a thought leader, offering strategy and developing best practices to deploy. The Engagements Manager reports to the Director of Strategic Communications to manage and implement marketing projects/initiatives and manage project resources proactively. They work closely with department staff, field offices, program consultants and vendors to manage all phases of projects. They also lead efforts to implement community engagement plans and offer strategic input around TNC’s land assets in Michigan. They may work within budgets to minimize expenses, maximize revenue, and meet quality control standards. They may use software systems to track and analyse program results, report findings, and work with senior managers to implement strategic recommendations.
We’re Looking for You:
The Engagements Manager is responsible for creating meaningful and engaging experiences with multiple audiences that position TNC for success. This includes support to Strategic Communications, Development, the State Director, Government Relations, Operations, and Conservation departments. They work closely with leadership to develop strategic plans to optimize the outcomes of all engagements (events, field trips, hikes, etc.) toward stated goals. And they execute on these plans. This role establishes and maintains working relationships with vendors and coordinates with staff at all levels to ensure proper flow of information during the planning and execution of events. This position may involve routine contact with Trustees, major donors, TNC members and supporters, subject matter experts, and volunteers.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience cultivating and managing client/customer relationships.
- Experience writing, editing and proofreading.
- Experience organizing and coordinating multiple projects.
