MANCHESTER UNITED FOUNDATION
EMPLOYABILITY AND CONSTRUCTION TUTOR – FTC (2 years)

The Purpose:       

Manchester United Foundation believes every young person should feel empowered to achieve their goals and uses the power of football and Manchester United to support young people to make positive choices in their lives.  Due to the success of the work the Foundation do, we are currently growing our team.

This role is based within the 16-21 department with the aim of progressing young people closer to employment. This is achieved by:

  • Coordinating and delivering a range of bespoke traineeships and education programmes, leading on all elements of construction.
  • Delivering and supporting wider accredited and non-accredited employability programmes at the Foundation. These include First Jobs, Next Move Into, and United Futures.

The Role:

  • To coordinate and tutor on the traineeship and employability programmes, leading on construction.
  • Engagement, recruitment, retention, achievement, and progression of leaners across a range of programmes into education training or employment.
  • To complete Governance and Awarding body compliance (IQA/EQA processes).
  • To coordinate learner reviews with tutors, parents, and employers.
  • Budget management, leading on construction and consumables.
  • To create sustainable relationships with key people and organisations relevant to the role.
  • To engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • To support extracurricular and match day activities.

The Person:

  • Minimum two years’ teaching/training experience on a range of accredited and non-accredited programmes.
  • Experience delivering employability and construction training units to certification and industry standards subject to EQA audits and work-based assessments.
  • Scoping, delivering, and evaluating education and training programmes.
  • Previous experience of raising the profile of a programme and becoming a thought leader.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry.
  • Knowledge of post sixteen education and employment pathways and progressions (NEET, Traineeship, study programme and adults)
  • Knowledge of awarding body criteria and IQA processes.
  • Awareness of apprenticeship standards and delivery models.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and Ofsted Framework within schools and colleges (EIF).
  • Understanding of Safeguarding best practice
  • To want to make a positive difference to young people.
  • Hard working, enthusiastic and reliable.
  • A Level 3 Qualification in a Construction related area such as multi-skills, painting and decorating, building, plastering. plumbing, or carpentry & joinery.
  • A full UK driving licence with access to own car for business use.
  • Teaching Qualification Cert Ed/PGCE
  • Assessors Qualification (Desirable)
  • IQA Qualification (Desirable)
