Job Description:
- The Cybersecurity engineer will provide expertise in electronic mail delivery, including but not limited to, SMTP, URL analysis and defanging, inbound email reputation scoring, data loss and information leakage protection and message sandboxing.
- The cybersecurity engineer will provide input and guidance to maturing email defense and security safeguards and will coordinate with the cybersecurity event response team on detection and intelligence enrichment.
- Candidates should have experience with fast paced, incentivized business operations that need agility while adhering to diverse regulatory and security framework expectations.
Candidate MUST have:
- 4+ years’ experience with 2+ years in Cybersecurity / 2+ years Information Technology Infrastructure
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology or a related field of study with a network engineering focus or relevant work experience.
- Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) Certification ( or ability to obtain within 180 Days of employment)
- Experience/exposure in implementation and operation of features within products such as Proofpoint Email Protection Suite, CISCO Secure Mail (ESA), Barracuda, Mimecast or O365 Email protection.
- Basic understanding of security concepts and controls for network, application, and operating systems.
- Desire to learn and improve.
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Experience with security instrumentation and detection to build robust and dynamic email defense policies and processes.
- Working knowledge of email authentication protocols, and experience in email header analysis.
- Experience/exposure working with Splunk to troubleshoot email security issues.
- Experience/exposure tracking and analyzing cyber campaigns utilizing technical indicators of Compromise.
- Ability to troubleshoot and investigate security related issues and having experience or knowledge with vulnerability and patch management.
Key responsibilities:
- Help team analyzing, tracking and defending against phishing attacks.
- Monitors, reports on, and enhances performance of assigned technical security solutions
- Help team with the configuration and troubleshooting our email security solutions.
- Supports escalations, known issues and out of cycle requests on multiple security solutions for the enterprise and its subsidiaries
- Collects, analyzes, synthesizes and presents data on technical security solutions and processes to peers, leadership and business stakeholders
- Assists the migration, upgrade and disposal of complex security capabilities and evaluates risks and impacts
- Collaborates with other business areas to deliver on work group initiatives for the enterprise and its subsidiaries
- Assists with developing continuous testing and validation of product performance and gap analysis for continuous security hardening processes
- Assists execution and alignment to security reference architecture standards and published blueprints.
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of OSI layers, DNS, SMTP/SMTPS, TCP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS
- Exposure to Cloud email security solutions.
- Network administration background ( Router, Switches and Firewalls)
- Strong technical, analytical, and administrative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Strong Solutioning Skills to help facilitate new technology gaps
