We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for an Electrical Engineer within our Product Development team to help support our Adjustable Bed business. As an Electrical Engineer you will have the opportunity to conceptualize, prototype, develop, and validate electrical components/systems. So, what will you be doing as an Electrical Engineer?
- Plan and implement electrical engineering projects, including defining the project, shop activities, test activities and technical specifications per internal and external customer requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to design, develop and test prototypes.
- Collaborate with suppliers to jointly develop new concepts, features, and products.
- Ensure component introduction and change management activities are effectively completed and communicated.
- Perform system tests to ensure engineering standards are achieved. Document test results, generate reports, and ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Evaluate and approve design changes, schematics, specifications, and drawing releases.
- Review product design for compliance with electrical engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Review UL standards and work with test laboratories on getting products certified.
- Advise warranty, customer service and service tech personnel on best methods of repair or replacement of product.
- Other duties may be assigned.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
Education/experience:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE). Master’s degree will be a plus.
- 2-3+ years of related engineering experience
- A willingness to travel domestically and internationally, and to communicate and interact effectively with customers and suppliers
