Job Description

- Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
- Expected starting salary $17 to $20 per hour.
High school graduation, G.E.D, or foreign education equivalent to a US High School Diploma.
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver’s license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.
Required Special Qualifications:
Must complete training required by law within thirty (30) days of employment.
- Nature of Work
- Under supervision, assists with Olmsted County’s election process. Provides customer service to voters in person and assists the election administration with ballot processing.
- Examples of Work
- Assists voters with the absentee voting process during the Direct Balloting period
- Provides assistance during elections by processing ballots during the week prior to the election
- Registers voters and processes voters casting an absentee ballot
- Directs voters and answers questions at the absentee voting locations
- Performs other related job duties as assigned
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
- Knowledge of the election process
- Skill in interpersonal communication
- Skill in the use of basic business math
- Ability to use computers and related software programs
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
