To support that journey for our learners with special educational needs (SEND) we are recruiting for a SEND professional with experience of chairing Education and Healthcare Plan (EHCP) Annual Reviews.
The EHCP (Education and Healthcare Plan) Co-ordinator reporting to the Head of SENCO Support, will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure a student-centred approach to our decision making for learners with SEND. It will involve chairing, reporting, and making recommendations on outcomes at EHCP Annual Reviews in liaison with, and with guidance from the SENCOs ensuring good stakeholder participation in planning for the needs of the young person on their journey to adulthood and beyond, with the student’s voice being central to future planning.
The role requires a good understanding of supporting special educational needs in the learning environment, ideally post-16, and the ability to conduct statutory meetings in line with SEND Code of Practice 2015 skilfully engaging with young people with a range of learning difficulties, disabilities, and some with complex needs. You will have the ability to learn about the college educational programmes quickly so that your decision making is informed and progressive for the learners.
