Full-Time Education Coordinator
Job Description
An essential member of the Education & Community Engagement team, the Education Coordinator is responsible for implementing all Out of School Time (OST), Workforce Development (WFD), and Creative Placemaking (CPM) programs for the Mann Center for the Performing Arts. The ideal candidate will be motivated to work with all members of the Education & Community Engagement team to assist in ensuring the quality control and accountability of instructional materials, so they align with standardized outcomes consistent with the organizations Strategic Plan.
This position is a non-exempt position reporting directly to the Manager of Education Operations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Manages the after-school choir/drumming/dance program including communications with participants and participant’s families (Fall-Spring)
- Supports in management of the Mann Center Fellowship program (January – October)
- Supports in management of the Mann’s Music Industry Training Program
- Manages/supports summer sessions of choir/drumming/dance programs at the venue set to launch in the summer of 2022
- Supports in management of annual summer orchestra training program (typically in July)
- Performs research to help identify areas of expansion for in-school partnerships in the West Parkside neighbourhood and beyond
- Serves as on-site Mann presence at partner schools working and managing a roster of Teaching Artists and school relations.
- Works in partnership with Manager of Operations to maintain relationship with IMS Schools and supports in planning/implementation of in-school performances and IMS Days at the Mann.
- Works collaboratively with EDU team in implementing YPCS concerts and other creative placemaking events
- Identifies and prioritizes materials and equipment needed in classrooms for all EDU programs
- Coordinates and implements student transportation, as needed
- Manages snack and nutrition distribution for OST programs
- Attends staff training/meetings, as well as school board and parent meetings, as requested
- Assists Vice President of Education and Community Engagement in the development of I.E.P. (Individual Education Plan) or I.F.S.P.’s (Individual Family Service Plan) for OST programs
- Reports on the performance and efficacy of program teaching artists
- Department administrative tasks including managing phones and payment forms
- Performs other duties, as assigned
