The Victim Rights Law Center’s Massachusetts office is hiring an education attorney! As sexual violence is at the forefront of the national dialogue, more survivors are coming forward with their safety, privacy, education, housing, employment, financial stability, and immigration needs. We need smart, compassionate attorneys to join us in leading a new response to sexual violence.

The VRLC’s mission is to provide legal representation to survivors of sexual violence to help rebuild their lives; and to promote a national movement committed to seeking justice for every rape and sexual assault victim. Responsibilities:
- Provide sexual assault survivors with comprehensive legal consultations, representation, and referrals
- Represent sexual assault survivors on education law cases (K-12 and campus) such as Title IX complaints, IEPs, 504 plans, and school safety transfers; as well as privacy, safety, and limited criminal justice advocacy
- Participate in weekly intake and case assessment meetings
- Conduct strategic outreach to community partners and institutions and foster strong relationships with partners in the education legal community
- Assist in updating outreach material for campus and K-12 communities
- Participate in the collection of accurate client services data collection for reporting purposes
- Work collaboratively with a team of lawyers
Required Qualifications:
- Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and in good standing
- Experience working with trauma survivors and/or underserved communities (e.g. LGBTQIA+, communities of color, people with disabilities, minors)
- Valid driver’s license and comfortable driving throughout the Commonwealth
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Title IX education law (K-12 and/or campus)
- Courtroom experience
- Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese
- 2 years of practice experience
Salary Range: $50,000-$58,000, depending on experience
