Pay Rate to Intermediary: £500 per day

Spinwell is recruiting for an Education and Inclusion Service Manager for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EDUCATION AND INCLUSION SERVICE MANAGER

  • Lead the delivery of frontline services supporting learners through a quadrant management structure to ensure all learners achieve their potential through a flexible team around the child approach.
  • Develop, lead and manage specialist teams providing a range of educational services supporting learners through a quadrant management structure, ensuring children can go to school locally, stay in school and succeed in school by accessing the right support at the right time. promote early identification and support, and work together with the Family Resilience and Safegaurding teams to ensure there is a holistic response to children and their families needs.
  • To lead and deliver the area services for the early identification, assessment, provision and review of children with additional educational needs. Services include Education Welfare, Specialist Teachers for behaviour support and language and learning, SEND Caseworkers, access to education and matrix management for speech and language therapy and Education Psychology.
  • To lead services and access alternative provision that is in accordance with legislation, best practice guidance, agreed budget and resources and is appropriate to the needs of the local area and communities.
  • To promote positive relationships with stakeholders and head teachers of both mainstream and special schools in order to achieve effective, inclusive outcomes for all pupils.
  • To work in partnership with schools and stakeholders to develop, implement and sustain a local strategy for the delivery of attendance, behaviour and alternative learning services.
  • To ensure quality outcomes for students receiving support for additional and special educational needs and disability using the performance framework tool agreed by the county council and to monitor and report on their progress and achievement.
  • The role holder will ensure all practice and developmental needs of support staff within their remit meets the safeguarding requirements outlined in working together to safeguard children. 

    SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE EDUCATION AND INCLUSION SERVICE MANAGER

  • Degree or equivalent professional qualification plus substantial experience at a senior management level in a specialist area in a demanding business environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles of change management, project management and continuous improvement, and their practical application.
  • Authoritative knowledge of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role including broader sector/commercial awareness.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and available resources to deliver effective support to their area of responsibility.
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with high level negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners/professionals.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of computerised business systems.
  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Advanced problem solving and analytical skills with the capacity to devise and implement innovative solutions for strategic change.
  • Proven ability to assess risks and benefits in a complex environment and respond appropriately.
  • Substantial experience in successful leading, motivating, coaching, mentoring and developing staff.
