Overview:

The Education and Events Coordinator assists with planning, coordination and execution of all programming and events for MHA, its Center for Education and Professional Development, and its Conference Center, in collaboration with MHA’s Education and Conference Center Departments. MHA hosts dozens of events each year, including large conferences, professional development seminars, webinars, dinners, and other engagements. Events attract a wide audience of healthcare professionals, including CEOs, clinical leaders, and emerging professionals.

 

This role requires an enthusiastic, proactive individual with superior communication and organizational skills. The Education and Events Coordinator should have a demonstrated interest in event planning, healthcare, and continuing education.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all event logistics for in-person, virtual and hybrid events, including: event space, catering, set-up, event technology and software support, event materials, and working with outside vendors.
  • Assist with the planning and hosting of educational webinars, professional development seminars, large conferences and other events, including prep sessions and interfacing with senior-level speakers.
  • Draft and edit scripts, slides, polls, surveys, and other event materials.
  • Manage attendee registration, tracking, reminders, customer service inquiries and post-event surveys.
  • Perform research to identify relevant content, themes, and speakers for events.
  • Update website with upcoming and past event information.
  • Assist with scheduling for events, speakers, and sponsorship meetings.
  • Assist with marketing and social media campaigns for the Education Department and helps create collateral as needed.
  • Plan and organize internal MHA staff events, celebrations, and team-building exercises.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 1-2 years event planning or healthcare related work experience required (internships included).
  • Collaborative team player with ability to adapt to changes and multi-task effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with multiple events per week.
  • Superior organization skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • A “can do”, “there must be a way” attitude.
  • Effective communicator with strong oral, written and proofreading skills; confidence and maturity in communicating with VIPs, senior executives and other leaders.
  • Creative problem solver with ability to remain calm and flexible under pressure of changing situations.
  • Self-starter and quick learner with ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other web-based applications, like Zoom.
  • Flexibility with work schedule for periodic early morning and/or evening events.
