We are currently hiring for the position of:
EDITORIAL COORDINATOR
Reporting to the Editor-in-Chief of TIFF’s in-house Creative Services and Editorial team, the Editorial Coordinator will work in a fast-paced environment, supporting the work of the Editorial team in relation to TIFF Bell Lightbox programming and select Festival-specific initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain editorial standards (clarity, structure, grammar) and ensure adherence to TIFF’s style guide on all marketing and programming copy as required (e.g. e-blasts, digital signage)
- Help ensure a consistent voice across all public-facing communications
- Keep track of requests for edits on assorted collateral
- Conduct on-the-fly edits; proof website copy
- Liaise regularly with other teams (e.g. Design, Marketing & Communications, Industry, Membership) to ensure needs are met
- Support the Editor & Senior Coordinator with data entry for tiff.net
- Support the Editor & Senior Coordinator with Festival-related administrative tasks as they arise
- This position requires being in office on a regular basis, aligning with our Flexible Work from Home Policy.
JOB GRADE & RATE OF PAY
- Job Grade 2
- $24.00/Hourly
CONTRACT DATES:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience editing, fact-checking, and writing in English in an editorial environment for a magazine, newspaper, online news/entertainment service, or arts organization
- An appreciation for language and the written word, and an aptitude for dealing with their intricacies
- Experience with data-entry and high computer proficiency (knowledge of HTML and familiarity with Google Docs and Google Sheets is preferred; experience with Trello, MailChimp, and/or Artifax is an asset)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to respond to fast-changing priorities and deadlines
- Ability to multitask with frequent interruptions in a busy open-concept work environment
- Adaptable to a flexible work schedule, including some evenings and weekends
- Remote work-from-home arrangements can be discussed and made as needed; some in-office work required
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Arts, Humanities, Journalism, or similarly applicable areas is preferred but not a requirement
