As an Economic Empowerment Coach, you will play a key part in guiding and coaching individuals towards successful career paths while actively contributing to the design and enhancement of our support systems.  This position will provide job readiness/career coaching and create service plans for participants to increase employability and competitiveness for available and desired jobs. The Dignified Work program offers services to provide a holistic, comprehensive approach to upskilling customers to prepare them to successfully enter, remain, and grow in the workforce. Career Path Services is looking for an Economic Empowerment Coach in Spokane to join our team, to be an ambassador of hope.

ABOUT THE JOB

The major responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Initial Engagement

  • Conducts participant outreach and recruitment into the Dignified Work program; receives referrals for services and makes contact or orientation with customers.
  • Provides initial assessment using Mobility Mentoring and My Bridge of Strength curriculum.
  • Conducts job readiness and career coaching orientation, conducts additional career exploration, work-skill, and employment barrier assessments.
  • Develops personalized action plans to enhance job readiness and career advancement.

Service Components

  • Schedules and supports core agency-designed workshops.
  • Creates and maintains monthly calendar of workshops/sessions.
  • Proposes and implements innovative approaches to enhance coaching methodologies. Takes initiative in identifying and addressing challenges to ensure the success of individuals in the program.
  • Connects (virtually or in-person) with participants weekly or as frequently as needed to ensure participant progress is taking place.
  • Identifies individual needs for holistic wrap around support services to reduce barriers and increase stability.
  • Documents participant progress and participation; provides monthly performance reports to ensure caseload data accuracy.

Exit and Transition Strategies

  • Conducts a final review with the participant and updates all applicable service plan updates.
  • May connect participants to local professionals and businesses to provide mentoring, informational interviews, and job shadowing opportunities within career interests and/or high demand occupations.
  • Orients the participant on next steps, including any ongoing mentoring relationships the participant will maintain beyond Career Coaching.
  • Develops individualized employment retention plan for post-completion employment success.
  • Provides any applicable updates to service plan sections, such as, work skills and education, career planning, and stacked activity sections.

Program Evaluation and Post-Exit Services

  • Establishes and monitor key performance indicators to assess the impact of coaching efforts.
  • Regularly review and update coaching strategies based on feedback and outcomes.
  • Participates in professional development opportunities to stay current on coaching and employment trends.
  • Coordinates post-exit survey and survey response data analysis.

EXPERIENCE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one-year of experience working with workforce development, social services, job placement, job development, sales, job coaching, employment and training, or related field.
  • Requires advanced level use of: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; LinkedIn, and other business-related networking applications, as appropriate.
  • Must be able to work in a culturally diverse and fast-paced environment and demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity and cultural competency.

Preferred

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in: Business Administration, Human Resources, Social Work, Communication, Workforce Development, Psychology, or Sociology.  Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
  • Certified Workforce Development Professional (CWDP).
  • Experience in resume development, teaching job interviewing and job preparation skills.
  • Demonstrated success working in a performance based system.
  • Demonstrated success working with people from a variety of backgrounds which may include disabilities, criminal history, homeless, family violence, poverty etc.

Job: Economic Empowerment Coach
Primary Location: Spokane
Salary: Full Salary Range is $53,000-78,000 annually. Most starting salaries will be at or near the base of that range, DOE.
