Full-Time Eastern Relocation Supervisor II
Job Description
- Knowledge of Relocation policies and procedures with a general understanding of the Property Management Program.
- Knowledge of Real Estate Laws, Regulations and relevant documents.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret maps, plats, charting, and highway plans.
- Knowledge of the appraisal process and abstract pertinent data for complex appraisals.
- Demonstrated ability to teach, motivate and give constructive support to Relocation Staff.
- Notary Public License.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Real Estate or related field (i.e., Civil or Structural Engineering, Architecture), and
- 8+ years experience in Right of Way work, and
- 3+ years of management experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Our team administers right of way services, develops and disseminates policy, and reviews/implements business plan initiatives and strategies.
- We manage consultant operations and support implementation of processes and procedures.
- Our team interacts with property owners, state agencies, legal officials, federal government officials, and the media while coordinating services, responding to inquiries, and for providing expertise.
- We are accountable for the administration of the NCDOT Right of Way program in compliance with Federal Highway Administration regulations under 23 CFR and 49 CFR as related to right of way. Right of way acquisition and relocation is the final activity to occur between the completion of design for highway projects and the letting of a project to contract for construction.
- Our Relocation team is a section of the Right of Way Unit that clears the proposed right of way of all personal property and all persons living or doing business therein. This includes, but is not limited to, owner occupied homes, tenant occupied homes, businesses, non-profit organizations, farms, billboards, storage facilities and other items of a similar nature. Our mission is to secure fair and consistent treatment for displaced individuals, families, businesses, and/or other entities occupying the right of way in such a manner as to prevent a disproportionate amount of injury to such persons resulting from projects designed for the benefit of the public as a whole and to provide these services in a manner which is efficient and cost effective while maintaining public confidence.
