This role is responsible for the coordination/delivery of CDL and delivery driving training to ACCB drivers. The incumbent will deliver standardized curriculum to prepare employees for the Driver Merchandiser role. Training will consist of classroom-based study as well as training on vehicle operation, trailer management and overall safety. The incumbent will also be responsible for coordinating the delivery of driver training. They will be the key point of contact regarding the training program and trainee performance. They will be responsible for partnering with Distribution Supervisor that aide in delivery driving training. The incumbent will assess each candidate and communicate progress towards completing their training to Distribution Supervisors
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Provide CDL A truck and trailer instruction and training
- Teach classroom theory and provide hands on driver operation instruction
- Monitor and document student performance, evaluate driving knowledge and document training records
- Follow an approved course of study and measurable objectives
- Provide assistance and instruction to students on training related matters, equipment and resources
- Plan, develop, evaluate and upgrade competency-based vocational training curriculum as necessary
- Manage and motivate students under the strict deadlines in fast paced environment
- Complies with all safety policies and procedures. Maintain quality standards.
- Travel required (Eastern PA)
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid CDL Class A with driving record within guidelines and current MEC
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Knowledge of DOT, state regulations and company policies regarding the operation of company DOT vehicles
- Five years of continuous commercial driving experience. Touch freight delivery driving experience preferred
- Three to five years of training delivery and facilitation experience preferred
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate with all levels
- Excellent time management and organizational skills; able to manage priorities
- Ability to refine training programs and assess candidates within the training program to determine readiness to operate CDL A equipment
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP and CONA strongly preferred
- Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
