Job Description

We are looking for a Director of Workforce Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) to lead BCH’s efforts in creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace. In this critical role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and promote talent from all backgrounds. You will also work to create a culture of belonging where everyone feels seen, heard, respected, and valued. In collaboration with the Workforce Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) and appropriate partners, you will work across the organization to create and drive various aspects of function, practice, and programming in support of BCH’s core values. The Director, Workforce Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) will:
- Manage and implement EDI awareness education programming, workshops, seminars, and retreats designed for patient-facing teams.
- Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team, HR Business Partners, and organizational leaders in creating strategies for hiring, retaining, and promoting employees who represent different backgrounds, including employees from historically underrepresented populations.
- Create strategies and tools that help employees have a high sense of belonging, psychological safety, and empowerment to speak up and share concerns and ideas.
- Partner closely with employee-led groups and our culture team in developing and deploying new EDI programs and practices.
- Work with CDO and HRIS team to compile, analyze, and maintain internal and external EDI-related data, metrics, toolkits, technology solutions, and external consultants/advisors; own and maintain EDI dashboards to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of EDI initiatives and strategies.
- Build relationships with diversity professionals at peer organizations, leaders of diversity organizations and bar associations, and diversity professionals at clients.
- Monitor external diversity best practices, attend and speak at diversity conferences and on diversity panels as requested, and facilitate relationships between individuals at the firm and leading diversity organizations.
To qualify, you must have:
- Bachelor’s Degree is required in Human Resources, Management, Human Services, Social Work, Community Health, Education, or a related field.
- Diversity Certificate/Certification preferred.
- Knowledge of national best practices and theories regarding organizational diversity, human development, training, and change management.
- Proven leadership and aptitude for understanding and addressing affirmative action, equal opportunity regulations, and current theories on diversity.
- Knowledge of quality management, process improvement, change management principles, and technology-based solutions.
