Position Summary:
Direct and lead the university’s talent development program by offering varying professional development opportunities, which enhance the effectiveness of all employees to advance the strategic goals and initiatives of the university. Facilitate a culture of learning and development, which is equity-minded, supporting the growth of employees at all levels within the institution. Implement value-added employee engagement programming and lead the university’s wellness initiatives for employees.
Supervision Received: Vice President, HRTM Supervision Exercised: Professional & administrative staff, as necessary
This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work in accordance with BSU remote work policy

Essential Duties:
• Consult with employees, managers, supervisors, and leadership to understand and support professional development needs; provide guidance in the design and delivery of programs utilizing both internal and external expertise.
• Lead, guide, motivate, and develop staff members; ensure staff are fully engaged in achieving the mission of the department.
• Partner with the division of Student Success, Equity, and Diversity (SSED) and the director of HR Equity to facilitate equity-minded program offerings that support the development of cultural competence.
• Lead the university’s Wellness initiatives and direct the Employee Wellness Committee in its efforts to offer inclusive and holistic wellness programming and foster a culture of health and wellness.
• Implement a comprehensive and equity-minded new hire onboarding experience program, which acclimate new employees to their position, benefit offerings, policies and procedures, the university, and its culture; develop programming for managers and supervisors that supports the successful onboarding of new employees.
• Provide career development and job coaching services to employees; offer workshops and programs including self-assessment, career planning, and job readiness skills; develop materials and online resources on a variety of career development topics.
• Coordinate with the Office of the President to implement value-added employee engagement programming, including new and established employee recognition events.
• Conduct surveys and evaluate professional development programming regularly; analyze and assess data and metrics to monitor progress and success of programming.
• Plan and implement a strengths-based program for all employees by offering the Clifton Strengths assessment as part of an individualized and departmental coaching program; partner with other HRTM staff in the delivery of this service.
• Develop and manage the budget supporting the university’s talent development program.
• Maintain responsibilities as a Connect Consortium partner to offer relevant and effective professional development programming.
• Participate in the State Universities Professional Development group to explore partnership opportunities for talent development and engagement initiatives.
• Promote all talent development, engagement, and wellness initiatives through a variety of communication channels to reach a diverse employee audience.
• Provide human resources support to employees and managers, as necessary and triage concerns to the appropriate HRTM lead.
• Serve as the coordinator for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and State Employee Responding as Volunteers (SERV) programs.
• Serve on university committees as assigned by the vice president.
• Performs related responsibilities and projects as assigned.

• Talent and learning development experience & leadership.
• Experience working in human resources.

• Capable of influencing others outside direct supervisory lines.
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
• Ability to work in an environment demanding exceptional levels of confidentiality.
• Ability to work under deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in higher education and knowledge of higher education principles and practices.· Experience in a unionized environment.· Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.· Human Resources Certification Institute (PHR or SPHR) and/or Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP) Certification.· Association for Talent Development Certification.· Gallup Strengths Certification.
