The Director of Software Shared Services delivers operational excellence to the business related to software deployment, software QA, software systems analysis/requirements.
What you will do to contribute to the company’s success
- Manages the 24/7 operational support of all software applications developed, owned, and managed by the Application Development group within the Technology services division.
- Creates an environment of inclusivity where all associates are mentored and empowered to succeed.
- Provides quality coaching, leadership, and direction to a high performing team of 3-4 managers within the Information Systems and Application Architecture department. Cultivates, pursues, and promotes a culture of continued excellence through individual and team growth.
- Collaborates with the Director Software Development and business stakeholders to validate engineered solutions are designed and tested to minimize operational costs and impact to customers.
- Ensures effective lifecycle management processes and maintenance plans to guarantee the high reliability and availability of all UAT and Production applications and software platforms.
- Operates as a key member of the Technology Leadership team by providing direction and support for continuous improvements through the pursuit of Cable One Strategies for Success.
- Develops and controls the annual operating and capital expenditure budget to ensure it is consistent with the overall strategic objectives and is within the overall IT and IS budget.
- Ensures operational excellence by incorporating a method to develop, maintain and communicate key operational metrices, such as Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), Customer Satisfaction (CSAT), Support Tickets, Deployments, Customer Impact (CPX), cost and project quality/timeliness.
- Uses reports, metrics, statistics, charts, and tables to bring awareness of tools, systems, applications, project status, categorization, ownership, and impact to stakeholder’s attention.
- Takes on other duties needed to help drive our Purpose, fulfill our Brand Principles, and abide by our Organization’s Values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university with primary study in Information Technology, Information Systems, Software Engineering or equivalent curriculum providing education in business and information systems required.
- The degree requirement may be bypassed if total experience and skills equate to at least 10 years managing technologist responsible for software support and/or development.
- 5 years or more Experience working in a software development environment wherein there existed a mix between internal custom developed and external vendor-provided solutions required.
- 3 years or more Progressive leadership experience required.
- Experience with developing, implementing, using, and maintaining performance & process-based metrics to drive results and continuous improvement required.
- Experience working in an Agile (SDLC) development environment focused on Continuous Integration and Continuous Development required.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work on multiple projects and effectively prioritize and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills.
- Must be able to develop, maintain and reinforce alliances internally and externally to create a mutual benefit.
- Ability to develop solutions to complicated issues using abstract thinking in new or complex situations.
- Strong leadership skills, consensus building capability, influencing skills and credibility with other functional areas; demonstrates the ability to lead change in a complex organization.
- Agile Scrum Management Certification preferred.
