Since launching 10 years ago, we have grown Springboard’s reach from 40 to nearly 15,000 students across 22 cities and 700+ schools. Students average a 3-4-month reading gain during each 5- or 10-week cycle, closing the gap to grade-level performance by more than half. Weekly family workshops average 91% attendance. About the opportunity

Springboard Collaborative invites talented and passionate candidates to apply for the position of Director, Sales Marketing. The Director, Sales Marketing will be responsible for establishing and leading marketing strategies based on customers’ needs. A successful candidate will be a compelling writer and a clear communicator, a strategic thinker who can also get things done, and an inquisitive researcher.

 

The Director, Sales Marketing will report to the Director of Communications and work as part of the Communications team within the Business Strategy Department at Springboard. This is a great opportunity to support an entrepreneurial team in maximizing the impact of a rapidly growing organization.

 

Who we’re looking for:

  • Ability to convey complicated ideas to various audiences using written, visual, and oral communications
  • Ability to think strategically and tactically; ability to operationalize strategy decisions
  • Ability to prioritize work and manage projects to tight deadlines
  • Ability to ask questions, conduct research, and pivot accordingly
  • Ability to write for sales, marketing, and advertising 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute mid- and short-term marketing strategies for B2B and B2C offerings to support organizational sales.
  • Write and test value propositions and positioning statements for specific customer personas.
  • Articulate segmentation strategy and adjust as required.
  • Identify and create tools that support the consultative sales approach.
    • Create working definitions of and processes for MQLs.
    • Align content to customer personas and customer journeys; analyze KPIs along the journey.
  • Work closely with the Sales team to drive work.
  • Develop brand story and draft marketing language for collateral, websites, videos, etc.

 

While this description is meant to provide an overview of the responsibilities of the Director, Sales Marketing, we are seeking candidates who demonstrate flexibility and can adapt to evolving needs in an entrepreneurial environment.


Required skills, qualifications, and characteristics:

  • Experience running marketing tests, including A/B tests
  • Experience analyzing marketing data (e.g. Google Analytics, social media analytics, email marketing analytics)
  • 5 years of director-level experience in marketing or 7 years of B2B marketing experience
  • Experience with writing for sales, marketing, and advertising 

 

Desired skills, qualifications, and characteristics:

  • Experience using email marketing and sales email software 
  • Experience with organic and paid digital marketing, including social media, SEO, and SEM

 

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position offering benefits and a salary within the range of $80,000 to $95,000, commensurate with Springboard Collaborative’s director-level compensation band.

 

Location

Springboard Collaborative’s headquarter office is in Philadelphia, PA. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all Springboard Collaborative offices are closed for the time being. This role will work out of the Philadelphia office once Springboard’s COVID restrictions are lifted.
