Ball State University Teachers College seeks to address gaps in our service to students to support the well-being and academic success of historically underrepresented students and those from economically challenging backgrounds through the creation of the Ryan Family Navigators Program. The program director leads this program which serves as a hub for student support within the college and guides students to existing comprehensive resources and opportunities. Under the direction of the Teachers College Office of the Dean, the program director will oversee the program’s day-to-day operations, including management of navigators and communication with Ball State administration and relevant stakeholders about the program. This contract position has generously been funded for three years.
Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for School Engagement, the program director oversees the program’s day-to-day operations, manages graduate student navigators, and communicates with Ball State administration about the program. The director collaborates with key colleagues across the campus to deliver a four-year programming and educational model. Collectively, the Navigators team members are advocates, mentors, and guides for students in Teachers College.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Education or a relevant field from an accredited institution. Three years of experience developing student success and retention initiatives in a secondary and/or higher education setting; experience with planning and/or facilitating student-oriented academic and social networking events. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous projects with attention to detail and adherence to deadlines; demonstrated ability to form collaborative relationships; outstanding social media skills; demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree. Experience developing student success and retention initiatives for underrepresented or historically marginalized student groups.
