Director of Student Financial Services

Ball State University’s Bursar & Loan Administration seeks a Director of Student Financial Services. This position will oversee daily operations of Student Financial Services including: cash receipt process; student accounts; third party billings; collections; financial wellness; and tax intercept process. Provide supervision for two professional positions. Set the standard for customer service. Administer financial aid functions including internal and external fiscal reporting. Oversee loan programs. Develop data metrics and performance indicators. Manage third party relations with agencies. Work with the Associate Director of Bursar and Loan Administration to create improvements and efficiencies in operations.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least five years of financial accounting or audit experience or managerial experience in financial institutions or non-profit and governmental service organizations. Must have supervisory and conflict resolution experience. Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service; skilled in effectively managing confrontational situations; must possess excellent communication skills.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. University or financial institution experience in auditing, large organization accounting and fund accounting; at least three years of supervisory and collection experience. Demonstrated knowledge and creation of data metrics and performance indicators for collections. Ellucian (Banner) ERP system experience.
