University Advancement pursues the mission to promote the University of North Texas through inspiring the public to become involved with the growth and progress of the university. The division accomplishes this by establishing and continuing mutually beneficial relationships with alumni, donors and friends of the university to encourage increased engagement and philanthropic support to benefit UNT.
Position Overview
The Division of University Advancement is seeking to hire a Director of Special Events to join our team. The Director of Special Events coordinates the strategy, planning, implementation and analysis of development
and President sponsored events. In addition, the director is responsible for cultivation of alumni and friends. This position proactively supports the mission of and serves as an ambassador for the Division of University Advancement and the University of North Texas.
Job Duties
- Collaborates with executive leadership to create event strategies that will increase donor engagement and promote UNT’s students
and programs - Coordinates strategic plan for each event including pre- and post-event debriefs.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to create a post-event stewardship plan for each event to create strategic outcomes and next steps.
- Serves as a consultant for college/school/unit based events.
- Strategically develops and allocates approved budget.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and four years of related professional experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
