Full-Time Director of Project Management

Job Description

Blink is looking for a Director of Project Management to join our growing team. If you love mentoring and working alongside creative, collaborative individuals while solving interesting challenges with innovative and exciting clients, this is the role for you!
Our Director of Project Management will join a team of skilled Project Managers at Blink, providing leadership on the team while also taking on strategic projects to manage. Our Director of Project Management will have three key job responsibilities:
1. Act as a key member of our client delivery project teams, working on UX research and user-centered design projects, alongside designers, researchers, directors, and account managers, to deliver excellence to our clients. This involves keeping our teams on the right track by monitoring the schedule, budget, and helping to see and remove roadblocks that come up throughout the lifecycle of a project
2. Act as the direct manager for Project Managers on our team, responsible for their growth and development at Blink.
3. Work with other members of the Project Management leadership team to envision the future of the PM group, taking on internal projects as needed to develop the group as Blink grows.

What you will be doing:

    • Managing research and user-centered design projects through all project phases, planning and tracking project profitability throughout.
    • Work with project leads to ensure that all projects stay on budget, scope, and schedule.
    • Work with project leads to course-correct as needed when projects encounter issues.
    • Coach and mentor the Project Management team members update.
    • Project Management skill tracks as needed to keep them fresh and relevant to our business and team.
    • Collaborate with the Project Management leadership team to continue to build out project management function in our organization so that it consistently performs to the highest standards of excellence.
    • Identify new processes and improvements to existing processes, manage the design, implementation, and revision of PM processes, and continuously improve these systems over time.
    • Work to ensure that Project Management best practices are standardized across projects in order to maintain delivery excellence in every project.
    • Ensure that all project management tools are used and optimized for maximum efficiency.
    • Provide timely and accurate project financial information to finance as needed.
    • Support the business development team with scoping and estimating projects for successful outcomes.

What we are looking for:

    • 8+ years of experience in project management with some mentorship or management experience.
    • Experience in a design, software engineering, and/or consulting environment is a major plus.
    • Demonstrated mastery of project management practice in a complex, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to manage resources, time, and budget effectively; business savvy and results-oriented.
    • Well-developed and effective team facilitation and leadership skills; able to establish cooperative and accountable team environment.
    • Authentic and approachable personality, a leadership style that empowers a team to succeed.
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
    • Experience managing distributed teams across multiple geographically dispersed offices.
    • Experience supporting sales teams with selling and scoping project work.

Additional things that are exciting to us, but not required:

    • Project management certification (PMP) and /or formal coursework/training in project management is strongly preferred.
    • Experience with Office 365 and Mavenlink is strongly desired.
