Full-Time Director of Project Management
Job Description
What you will be doing:
- Managing research and user-centered design projects through all project phases, planning and tracking project profitability throughout.
- Work with project leads to ensure that all projects stay on budget, scope, and schedule.
- Work with project leads to course-correct as needed when projects encounter issues.
- Coach and mentor the Project Management team members update.
- Project Management skill tracks as needed to keep them fresh and relevant to our business and team.
- Collaborate with the Project Management leadership team to continue to build out project management function in our organization so that it consistently performs to the highest standards of excellence.
- Identify new processes and improvements to existing processes, manage the design, implementation, and revision of PM processes, and continuously improve these systems over time.
- Work to ensure that Project Management best practices are standardized across projects in order to maintain delivery excellence in every project.
- Ensure that all project management tools are used and optimized for maximum efficiency.
- Provide timely and accurate project financial information to finance as needed.
- Support the business development team with scoping and estimating projects for successful outcomes.
What we are looking for:
- 8+ years of experience in project management with some mentorship or management experience.
- Experience in a design, software engineering, and/or consulting environment is a major plus.
- Demonstrated mastery of project management practice in a complex, deadline-driven environment. Demonstrated ability to manage resources, time, and budget effectively; business savvy and results-oriented.
- Well-developed and effective team facilitation and leadership skills; able to establish cooperative and accountable team environment.
- Authentic and approachable personality, a leadership style that empowers a team to succeed.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Experience managing distributed teams across multiple geographically dispersed offices.
- Experience supporting sales teams with selling and scoping project work.
Additional things that are exciting to us, but not required:
- Project management certification (PMP) and /or formal coursework/training in project management is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Office 365 and Mavenlink is strongly desired.
