Director of Finance
We acknowledge that CGLCC’s Toronto office is on the traditional territory of many Nations, including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. We also acknowledge that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC) is the only chamber of commerce uniting and advocating for the over 100,000 2SLGBTQI+ owned and operated businesses in Canada. As such, CGLCC aims to fosters economic growth by supporting and nurturing these 2SLGBTQI+ businesses, entrepreneurs, students and allies, and by helping Canada’s corporate world connect with the 2SLGBTQI+ business community. It is within this context that CGLCC invites nominations and applications for the role of Director of Finance, a position that will have an indelible impact on the future of the organization.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for directing all financial services for CGLCC to support CGLCC’s short- and long-term strategic goals. Thus, playing a strategic and operational leading role in further developing CGLCC as a financially sound organization.
Qualifications
Among the qualifications being sought in candidates, the incoming leader must have a deep and abiding commitment to advancing reconciliation, equity, diversity, and inclusion in all its forms and must believe, intrinsically, in the importance of leading with curiosity and welcoming ideas that can later be synthesized and turned into possibility. While all candidates are encouraged to apply and, in so doing, share how they see themselves adding value to the CGLCC’s environment, the following credentials and/or experiences are seen as possible markers of the candidates most likely to realize success in the role: A) MBA/CPA designation is strongly preferred; B) strong business acumen and proven financial analytical skills, including the ability to identify risks, opportunities, trends, and relationships; C) proven experience creating financial models from scratch, with vision and tenacity and; D) experience working with the 2SLGBTQI+ community is an asset.
Compensation
CGLCC provides a competitive compensation package of $95,000 – $105,000 with additional benefits including group benefit plan coverage, annual vacation, and a generous public holiday schedule including paid time off between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
