Job Description
Context
International House London (IHL) is an independent language school based in Covent Garden, London. It has a long-established leadership position in the fields of language teaching, testing, and teacher training.
IHL, which is a not-for-profit trust, owns a 50% stake in the International House World Organisation, an affiliated network of schools in 53 countries.
Purpose of the role
This role is designed to contribute to the management and leadership of IHL to ensure efficient, effective, operations, especially in the areas of finance and IT.
In particular, the role is designed to ensure sound financial management, strong financial performance, reliable and up-to-date IT systems, and regulatory and legal compliance.
Key facts
1. Reports to CEO
2. Salary: £90-100k
3. Pension: 3% contribution to salary sacrifice scheme
4. Full-time (35-hour week)
5. Contract: permanent
6. Location: hybrid, with a minimum of 2 days per week in Central London office
7. Leave: 30 days annually, plus public holidays

Responsibilities
1. Lead IHL’s financial management, including:
2. Financial performance
3. Accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and provision of financial data to support decision-making
4. Leadership, management, and development of the finance team
5. Maintain and develop IT systems and processes, including:
6. Leadership of small IT team
7. Management of change in the direction of further digitalisation and automation
8. Management of relationships with external IT providers
9. Contribute to the overall leadership and governance of IHL including:
10. Contributing to strategy
11. Organisation of Board of Trustee meetings
12. Statutory and regulatory compliance (concerning, notably, HMRC, Companies House, and the Charity Commission)
13. Management of leases, rent reviews, and licences
14. Deputising for the CEO
