The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCS England) is seeking a talented professional to join them in a newly created ‘Director of Communications’ post. The purpose of this role is to provide strategic direction to the work of the organisation’s campaigns, news and media, policy and public affairs, marketing and digital and publishing teams.
The Director of Communications will be responsible for reputation management and building significant links with stakeholders and partners. They will work closely with others including the College officers and executive team.
The post-holder will lead three teams, and lead the development and implementation of the Communications strategy that will support the delivery of RCS England’s five year strategy – Changing the face of surgery.

Key Facts:
- Reporting into the Executive Director for Membership, Marketing and Communications.
- Full-time, permanent role.
- Salary: circa £71,953 per annum + great benefits which include 21.6% employer pension contribution, enhanced holiday pay, and up to 4 college closure days.
- Hybrid: home-working blended with circa 2 days per week in RCS England’s superb offices in Holborn, London.
