Full-Time Director of AVP

Job Description

Essential Functions:
Center on Halsted Anti-Violence Project provides a range of direct services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer survivors of violence with a focus on domestic, sexual, and community based violence.
The Director will report on the AVP work plan, reflective of the scopes of work within all related funding streams. The Director will provide direct services to LGBTQ survivors of Domestic and Intimate Partner Violence. Direct services include short term individual counseling, group counseling, crisis intervention, safety planning, case-management, advocacy, education, and outreach. This position is responsible for cultivating relationships with DV/IPV providers within the community and establishing community partnerships to facilitate client care. This position manages the Anti-Violence Resource line and staffs the line during working hours. The position provides clinical coverage during designated client walk-in hours. The position also provides administrative support to the Anti-Violence Project through activities such as data collection, monthly report writing, and supervision of interns and represents the Anti-Violence Project in the community by serving on various community committees.
Duties:
Administrative
• Maintain State of Illinois clinical license
• Collect and maintain data for the program
• Contribute to AVP monthly program reports and board dashboard reports
• Contribute to grant writing process and submit grant reports
• Clinically supervise 1-2 practicum students
• Clinically supervise the AVP staff
• Attend Directors Meetings

Direct Services
• Maintain caseload of counseling clients who are survivors of domestic and community-based violence
• Provide case management, advocacy, safety planning, referrals, and crisis services to walk-in clients who are survivors of violence
• Responsible for overall management of Anti-Violence resource line
• Staff the Anti-Violence resource line during working hours
• Maintain accurate, confidential, HIPAA compliant, timely records, reports and files

Community Engagement
• Serve as a COH representative in the community with stakeholders and serve on appropriate committees, coalitions, and task forces
• Deliver training and presentations on serving LGBTQ survivors of violence
Skills/Qualifications
• Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer cultural humility
• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology or a related field required
• Licensed in the State of Illinois as a professional counselor or social worker required. Licensed in the State of Illinois as a clinical professional counselor, clinical social worker, or clinical psychologist preferred
• Five years of experience providing direct services to clients, preferably to those who are survivors of violence
• Excellent verbal skills, oral and written
• Microsoft Office proficiency required, Microsoft Excel proficiency preferred
