Miss Hall’s School seeks a full-time Director of Athletics who will lead our growing athletic department with clear purpose, bold vision and a sense of possibility. The Director of Athletics is responsible for all aspects of the all-school athletic program including but not limited to competitive team sports, recreational and intramural activities, hiring and supervision of coaches, and advising student athletes.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about athletics and fitness; committed to the teaching, mentoring, and coaching of young women; and excited to design an innovative, girls centered athletic program for the future. The selected candidate must possess excellent organization, collaboration and communication skills and be a positive advocate for MHS Athletics and the MHS community as a whole. Major Responsibilities include:
- Provide strong direction and inspirational leadership for our growing Athletics Department
- Design and deliver all-school athletic program in alignment with School mission and values
- Oversee all competitive, recreational and intramural athletic activities and relevant operations
- Hire, train and supervise coaches to ensure that they are delivering a mission-aligned program and meeting all expectations of an MHS employee
- Serve as advisor to the Student Athletic Association, supporting student athletes to design school-wide events and promote school spirit
- Supervise Assistant Director of Athletics in creation of athletic calendar, rosters, and schedules
- Coach at least one varsity team and/or teach two recreational/intramural activities each year
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- At least three years’ experience in the field of athletics or physical education
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required; Master’s Degree preferred
- Experience coaching competitive athletics
- Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills, with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills, with ability to interact and engage with diverse constituencies
- Outstanding interpersonal and collaboration skills, with utmost professional integrity
Salary benchmarked with NAIS medians and commensurate with experience
