Job Description
Clark College is currently accepting applications for a full-time, 12-month, exempt Director of Athletic Communications position in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) department. This position is responsible for oversight of a comprehensive public relations program and serving as the primary media contact for the conference office. The position will oversee distribution of all conference related news releases, game statistics reporting, production of conference publications, and other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. The position requires the ability to handle an irregular work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, write, edit, and oversee the production of printed promotional materials including codebook, directory, brochures, flyers, and program and media guides; maintain consistency in design and use of the conference logos. Has experience using Adobe Creative Suite applications (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
Oversee the management and maintenance of the conference websites ensuring that all content is accurate, current, and consistent with approved style guidelines. Is familiar with PrestoSports website platform. Responsible to post Letter of Intent signees and manage the LOI database.
Oversee, compile, and archive statistical information. Also work to provide training videos for conference statistical programs. Is familiar with PrestoSports Statistical program and Hudl.
Prepare regular news releases and feature stories for distribution to local media, conference media platforms, hometown papers, intercollegiate opponents, boosters, and other interested parties.
Respond to requests for information from media personnel and the public; distribute promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, and press kits; disseminate information via the appropriate media, member colleges, boosters, and the public.
Develop and maintain close contact with local media and those who cover Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) sports; organize press conferences, interview as needed, respond to questions, issue press credentials, and provide results and statistics of conference events.
Maintain complete historical records including photography and video archives for the conference, and specifically the NWAC Hall of Fame database.
Participate in planning and preparation for conference tournaments and special events such as the Hall of Fame, Conference meetings, etc.
Manage all aspects of the department’s electronic media projects such as Athlete of the Week, Coaches Polls, etc., and is familiar with using social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)
Coordinate digital broadcasts (familiar with BlueFrame streaming platform) of NWAC championships and special events. Assist in securing sponsors and selling advertising.
Create video content (i.e. highlights, stories, etc.) that are posted via NWAC social media platforms and conference website.
Supervise all sports information support staff for NWAC events. Secure necessary arrangements for media, scouts, officials, statisticians, and other press box/table personnel for NWAC events. Mentor interns and student assistants assigned sports information responsibilities.
Manage the press box and game management (scorer’s table staffing) at all NWAC championship events, including overseeing the statistics crew, replay protocols, addressing problems of media and press box employees, and screening all public service announcements.
Organize and supervise photo and video sessions for all NWAC events. Develop video promotional materials for championship and special NWAC events.
Travel to conference events (i.e. championships, HOF banquet, etc.) providing necessary information and support.
Conference photographer.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Work in conjunction with the Director of Operations in fulfilling many of these responsibilities and duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in sports management, communications, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Three years of experience in sports information or a related filed.
Experience in print layout, desktop publishing applications (Adobe Creative Suite applications).
Experience with webpage design.
Experience with sports broadcasting (Hudl/BlueFrame).
Experience with video creation content.
Working knowledge of sports statistics software (Presto Sports).
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to multitask, meet deadlines and the ability to resolve issues under intense time constraints.
Demonstrated excellence in sports journalism.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work from home, weekends, and other non-traditional hours.
Ability to travel to conference and office meetings.
Ability to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
Salary Statement: $49,126 – $54161/annually
