Full-Time Director, National Accounts

Job Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The National Accounts Director is responsible for establishing strategies and implementing tactics to drive profitable sales within the Walgreens Boots Alliance as well as other assigned accounts.  Developing strong relationships and collaborating with key customers to influence mutually beneficial outcomes will be key to success in this role. This role will also be responsible for overall SKU strategy through analytical modeling and working closely with Product Management.  Compliance to all applicable regulations, and a reputation based on integrity is a must for this role.  Additional responsibilities include successfully negotiating and managing profitable multi mullion dollar contracts as well as inventory management.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Support all accounts on product strategy: Launch targets, target market share and working with Product Management to align on these results.
  • Develops the business plans and actively manages assigned accounts to meet and exceed sales and profit margin objectives.
  • Responsible for WBAD and additional accounts for pricing strategy to maximize margins.
  • Identifies new business opportunities and collaborates with key stakeholders on strategy and execution.
  • Analyzes business results and stays abreast of current business trends to maximize potential sales.
  • Builds and sustains relationships with internal and external customers and ensures customer satisfaction.
  • Leads negotiations and execution of business contracts for assigned accounts.
  • Manages the communication and coordination for all aspects of an account’s business, including, but not limited to, supply/demand, logistics, customer service, product promotion, pricing and contracts, and financial transactions.
  • Works closely with cross functional business partners in Marketing, Customer Service, Finance, Contracts, Legal, Logistics/Distribution, and Manufacturing to ensure that territory business is conducted in a timely, smooth and efficient manner.
  • Ensures all business is conducted with regulatory and compliance guidelines.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor degree required. MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • Highly developed negotiation skills.
  • New product launch experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large multi-million dollar contracts.
  • Ability to sell and manage customer relationships in a highly regulated industry.
  • 5 years’ experience in the generic industry with sales experience

Skills/Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical capabilities.
  • Strong business and financial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously, working individually or collaboratively.
  • Developing and maintaining trusting relationships with key decision makers internally and externally.
  • Proven track record of sales accomplishments.
  • Proficient in IQVIA (IMS), Symphont (METYS), Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Proven track record of product launches.

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS:

  • Reports to the Vice President, Sales and Commercial Operations, Specialty Generics.
  • Works collaboratively with cross functional stakeholders.
  • Twenty-five to Fifty percent travel is required.
