We are looking for a highly motivated Director, Accounting to join our team!
How You’ll Contribute
- Develop, review and maintain accounting policies, ensuring compliance with appropriate US GAAP standards.
- Lead and/or actively participate in projects operationalizing the accounting for new transactions and the implementation of new accounting standards.
- Evaluate processes/controls to improve efficiency (through various techniques such as process streamlining and/or automation) and effectiveness on a continuous basis.
- Review business agreements to help structure business transactions to minimize company accounting exposures. Educate internal business partners on the key accounting rules, such as revenue recognition.
- Lead the month-end financial close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Oversee outsourced accountant of overseas subsidiary to ensure ongoing adherence to US financial reporting and local tax rules and requirements.
- Provide leadership and direct oversight to the accounting team, including cost accounting, revenue, royalties, equity accounting, payroll, incentive compensation accounting, accounts payable, general ledger, and consolidation.
- Coordinate and work with external auditors and manage audit requests to drive timely completion of annual audits.
- Oversee the filing and reporting of government grant requirements and set up applicable accounting policies in accordance with grant regulations.
- Ensure compliance with tax and local statutory regulations on the global basis.
- Research accounting literature and write technical position memos.
- Be a key agent or leader in the implementation of business and accounting systems.
- Develop a culture of mentorship, continuous improvement, training, and success in the accounting organization.
- Grow, lead and manage a team of direct reports, driving performance by setting goals and development plans and fostering an environment to achieve those goals, through ongoing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
- Drive accounting or business initiatives as needed.
Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- 10-12+ years of combined public accounting (manager level or above in Big 4 preferred) and industry experience (hardware preferred).
- Strong technical accounting background and ability to perform, comprehend and analyze complex accounting analysis. CPA license highly preferred.
- Highly detail oriented, organized, self-motivated and committed to a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced work environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience in helping drive toward IPO readiness.
- Strong MS Office (Excel) skills, Netsuite experience a plus.
