Internship Digital Media Intern
Job Description
The Just Solutions Digital Media Intern works with the Just Solutions staff to support education and communication strategies that shape public/political discourse and inspire partners to take action. The Digital Media Intern will gain experience in developing digital content, managing multiple social media accounts, and implementing effective messaging tactics. The Digital Media Intern’s work and commitment furthers our organization’s mission to drive community-created and equity-centered solutions to the climate crisis. Ultimately, Interns will develop new knowledge and skills that will help inform their careers in digital communications and strengthen their experience in the environmental and climate justice movement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Creation Support
- Create graphics and messaging toolkits for our social media content
- Weekly engagement with our online community
- Create monthly short-form videos that highlight our research & analysis
Podcast Support
- Create promotional graphics for podcast episodes
- Create social media toolkits for episodes
Skill-building
- Attend meetings with relevant team members to further support the work of the intern
- Attend weekly 1-on-1 meetings with the intern supervisor
- Attend Just Solutions webinars and livestream events.
Administrative Assistance
- Manage internal paperwork required to execute the job responsibilities.
- Attend meetings as needed.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Current undergraduate student of a program in communications, marketing, or another similar field
- Experience with social media management for professional/business accounts
- Experience with digital content creation primarily for social media
- Excellent editorial and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in highly diverse teams and organizations.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through, and highly organized.
- Ability to track, manage, and prioritize effectively and in a timely manner while working on multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a highly collaborative environment with various projects and programs simultaneously.
PREFERRED:
- An interest in pursuing a climate-related career
- Experience with creating short-form videos (TikTok, Reels, etc.)
