Freedom for All Americans is seeking a Digital Strategist for a contract that will run through September 30, 2021, with the option to extend up to 12 months. The Digital Strategist will lead digital communications efforts in a handful of states whose lawmakers are key votes for passing the Equality Act, and support the integration of that work into FFAA’s overall communications program. This work will include but is not limited to running email, social media, and online ad campaigns. Successful candidates will be committed to advancing LGBTQ equality and have expertise creating and managing work across a range of communications technologies, as well as experience in nonprofit advocacy or electoral campaigns.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Work alongside the Director of Digital Strategies to develop and execute digital communications strategies that advance support for the Equality Act in key states and among key legislative and constituency groups
- Manage the day-to-day creation and workflow of emails, social media posts, landing pages, signup forms and other action pages, and performance reporting that is crucial to implementing a comprehensive digital advocacy campaign in support of the Equality Act
- Manage campaign CRM (customer/constituent relationship management) systems, including oversight of membership lists, online actions, online fundraising pages and other functions as needed
- Manage content on FFAA’s and campaign websites, including updating written content and implementing basic CMS changes
- Create images, gifs, short videos, FAQ sheets and other visual and print assets for use online and offline as needed
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in online communications or marketing, preferably in a political campaign or issue campaign setting.
- Expert knowledge of common advocacy CRM technologies. For example: Blue State Digital, EveryAction (NGP/VAN) and Action Network
- Experience crafting content for a wide range of online properties, including emails, blog posts, social media, ads and websites
- Familiarity with WordPress CMS, including the ability to update posts, pages, categories, tags, images and other media files
- Experience deploying, monitoring and reporting on Facebook ads, Google ads, and other integrated paid media campaigns
- Ability to do basic photo editing, document design and create simple online graphics for social media and ads
- Experience with online fundraising is strongly desired
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment
- Commitment to a bipartisan organizing strategy, including working with conservative constituency groups and lawmakers

LOCATION AND TRAVEL
This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the United States. Candidates must be able to work from home and feel comfortable frequently engaging with colleagues and partners by phone, video conference, email, Slack and other digital communications tools.
COMPENSATION
This is a contract position that will run through September 2021, with the possible option for extension up to 12 months. Monthly rate will be negotiated commensurate experience, with a range of 5k to 7k per month, paid once monthly.
