Grassroots Analytics (“GA”) maintains a detailed database on more than 20 million active American donors, including data on net worth, ideological preferences, political donation history, non-profit donation history, demographics, and contact information. GA currently operates three departments that market GA data and analytics to their specific industry — Grassroots Analytics Campaigns, Grassroots Analytics Nonprofits, and Grassroots Analytics Capital Raise.

Job Description

Grassroots Analytics was built with the intention of breaking down barriers to entry for all candidates, no matter their background, net worth, or political history. In GA’s Digital Lab, our team of digital experts works with a select group of upstart, underdog campaigns and causes to democratize fundraising and set new standards for innovation. We can – and do – try something new every day by leveraging our world-class database. In essence, we exist to jumpstart programs whose biggest barrier to success is the status quo.

The Digital Associate will be a sponge for industry knowledge and expertise, soaking up new information, strategy, best practices, and feedback. They will spend each day learning the ropes to deliver exceptional digital programs for clients like Mary Peltola, Maxwell Frost, and Voters of Tomorrow – as well as helping to find and launch the next generation of candidates and causes, too. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone kick-starting a career or looking to broaden their perspective on the full scope of digital.

The Digital Associate will report to the Digital Director.

Responsibilities

  • Digital Program Execution Support (50%)
    • Draft compelling fundraising content in accordance with best practices
    • Utilize Grassroots’ progressive donor database to pursue hyper-targeted list-building
    • Master email and text campaign production in a variety of CRMs
    • Participate in client communications, including drafting client-facing analytics reports
  • Digital Industry Mastery (50%)
    • Develop mastery of best practices, both specific to Grassroots Analytics and more broadly applicable to the digital fundraising industry
    • Monitor industry developments and learn how to discern trends, opportunities, and impact

Required Qualifications 

  • Experience working in an office environment or on a campaign – can be short-term (internships and university work study qualify!)
  • Strong writing skills within a range of styles and formats
  • Comfort with data tracking and analysis, and sincere excitement to learn more complex applications
  • Passion for and belief in the power of digital fundraising to influence our future
  • Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity, and inclusion

Preferred but not Required Qualifications

  • Basic HTML knowledge
  • Experience using CRMs, SMS platforms, and/or donation platforms (ever text-banked for a candidate or set up a donation form for an on-campus fundraiser? That counts!)
  • Direct experience in fundraising

The salary range for this position is $55,000 – $59,000 plus benefits, with the possibility of signing and performance bonuses. This is a full-time, in-office position at 806 7th St NW, Washington, D.C. 20001

We offer 33 days of PTO + two days for every year with GA; 11 federal holidays; and full office closure between Christmas and New Years. Additional benefits include healthcare, dental, and vision insurance; paid parental leave; mental health and sick days; 401K with employer match; profit sharing; and more.
