Full-Time Design Engineer

Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Design Engineer within our Engineering team to help support our business.  Over the last 45 years, Precision Hydraulic Cylinders (PHC) has built a reputation as a world-class hydraulic cylinder manufacturer through our superior quality control and innovation. PHC is a leading supplier of hydraulic cylinders for material handling, construction, agriculture, and transportation markets.  If you join our team, your work will ensure customers across the world have high-quality products they can use to keep their businesses running.

As a Design Engineer you will have the opportunity to collaborate with OEM customers to design products for their needs.  Your contributions will have a direct impact on the business by expanding our customer base and fulfilling their unique needs.  The team you will be working with is laid back, but hard working, and values creative innovation.  Recent graduates may be considered

So, what will you be doing as a Design Engineer?

  • Design hydraulic cylinders using computer software.
  • Analyze prototype data and retest
  • Research new product ideas and methods
  • Improve existing products and processes
  • Ensure compliance with the industry’s safety standards
  • Write detailed reports and maintain accurate records
  • Ensure products are user- and environment-friendly

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Degree in Mechanical/Design Engineering.
  • CAD experience; such as Unigraphics or similar.
  • Computer literate
  • Self-motivated
  • Be able to work well in a team environment
  • Team-oriented, no drama.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized
  • Ability to multi-task – juggle and prioritize simultaneous demands
