Full-Time Design Drafter – Chicago, IL
Job Description
Employing sophisticated two-dimensional (2D) and/or three-dimensional (3D) CAD & Revit modeling, the Design Drafter develops and produces high-quality bid and shop drawing packages to be used for solicitation of installation bids and submission to our customers for review and approval. Prepares drawings in accordance with established methods and standards relating to Swisslog Healthcare systems. Accuracy of drawings is critical to minimize change orders passed down due to drawing errors.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare and create high quality shop drawing / bid package drawing sets for all product lines for use by the project managers, pre-construction coordinator, and external parties.
- Compile and complete as-built final set of drawings based on final field modifications.
- Coordinate all activities with director, project managers, pre-construction coordinator, estimators, sales, and others as required.
- Manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments to meet required deadlines.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a technical drawing field; or two (2) years of equivalent work experience.
- Autodesk AutoCAD.
- Autodesk Revit.
- Experience / knowledge of construction drawing preparation practices and procedures.
Desirable, but not Essential:
- Navisworks (or equivalent clash detection software).
- Experience participating in mechanical coordination efforts for healthcare facility construction.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical drawing field.
