Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual at entry level to develop skills in a role primarily engaged in inputting data activities, working under supervision in supply chain management. You will be responsible for helping to achieve business objectives and continue improving performance.

This post will allow you the opportunity to collaborate with customers and supply chain activities to ensure accuracy of Inventory systems, allowing supply demands to be met and value for money to be obtained. To support key activities and senior colleagues, contributing to operational Supply Chain Management (SCM) across Inventory Management, Supplier Management, Demand Management and Performance Management activities. Liaising with stakeholders, you will be accountable for material accounting transactional aspects of supply chain management.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for..

• Responsible for recording all disposal tasking’s received.
• Accurately update data records and raise Issue Vouchers.
• Management of office stationary requirements.
• Provide a professional, courteous and efficient service to all customers including dealing with any telephone enquiries.
• Provide administrative support as directed by the management team within the office on a daily basis including maintaining updating all relevant fire, key/gate and camera pass registers.
• Registering visitors on site and booking/preparing meeting rooms.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Knowledge of Microsoft applications , in particular Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Good communication skills.
• IT skills, IT literate, with good understanding of Microsoft office tools as well as being articulate and precise in communicating information.
• Experience of communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

• A Level, or equivalent qualification, such as ONC or BTEC (level 3) or similar in experience.
• Experience within a supply chain environment.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Access.

About your team

The Integrated Logistics (iLog) Function is the integrating Function for Support within DE&S, responsible for the development, management and delivery of in-service support for our front-line command customers. The iLog Function consists of around 2,900 personnel, both civil servants and military, and with a wide range of disciplines ranging from operations management and supply chain management, technical through-life support and logistics delivery, to modelling and analysis and internal continuous improvement consultancy services.
