Job description
In this role you will need to have an extensive knowledge and a recent proven track record in a planning and scheduling environment, demonstrating comprehensive application of planning and scheduling tools.
About you
As the Principal Planner, you will be responsible for:
• The planning and scheduling team ensuring all scope is captured, represented, controlled and maintained in the project plans under the lead Project Controls Manager.
• Analysing schedule performance data, challenging and clearly communicating to key stakeholders to drive delivery and make informed business decisions.
• Working with suppliers and stakeholders to integrate relevant information and hold them to account.
You will:
• Be skilled and experienced in developing, managing and progressing complex schedules.
• Actively engage in wider initiatives to develop your own skills and others around you.
• Be an excellent communicator -Build strong working relationships and work collaboratively with wider stakeholders across all areas and levels of the organisation.
Do you have:
• In-depth experience of Planning methodologies and implementation in complex projects
• Strong understanding of wider Project Controls and other functions in order to ensure data is captured correctly.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and generate complex data with the skills to be able to communicate clearly to multiple stakeholders and different levels
• Experience in developing others and leading teams to drive improvements in understanding, skills and data integrity
It would be essential for you to have a demonstrable experience of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques and Primavera P6 or equivalent planning and scheduling software, on a breadth of projects at different stages of the project lifecycle, complexity and approval stages.

Responsibilities
To be considered you will possess significant experience and/or qualifications in the following:
• Planning and Scheduling in a Project and Programme environment
• Planning and Scheduling methodologies (APM Project Planning, Monitoring and Control)
• Performance Management / Earned Value Management (APM EVM)
• Oracle Primavera P6 Planning software or other leading planning software
• Strong data analysis skill set
• Good understanding of Cost Control / Estimating and the integration with planning
• Good understanding of Project Risk management and conducting schedule risk analysis (Oracle PRA preferred)
• Good understanding of change control processes
• Proven team management and development skills
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• Planning and Scheduling in a Project and Programme environment

• Experience of Performance Management / Earned Value Management (APM EVM)

• Significant experience using Microsoft Projects
• Significant experience using Planning Software
