Job description
We have a range of exciting vacancies available across within DE&S for L3 (PII) Project Controls Managers.
This post represent a real opportunity to be involved with the continual development of best practice within DE&S Project Controls environment.
This position will be the “right hand ” to the project/programme manager and is responsible for delivering the Project Controls across a variety of high value and complex projects and portfolios.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will take lead roles within the Project Controls Management function to provide robust support across a variety of high value and complex projects and portfolios.
You will be responsible for setting and maintaining performance measurement baselines; directing and integrating all aspects of Earned Value Management (EVM); cost management; estimating; scheduling and risk management; providing analysis of progress and driving agreed recovery actions.
You will:
• Have experience of managing and delivering programme and Project Controls.
• Have responsibility for the management of a Project Controls team and employees.
• Be able to interpret complex data and communicate it to the delivery team.
• Offer strategic advice and communicate with senior stakeholders on complex issues regarding project performance
In person, you will possess good interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills with experience of working collaboratively with teams, across functions and with all levels of the delivery teams.
These roles would suit Project Controls professionals with proven track record either in supplier, consultant or client-side roles; ideally with a background in delivery projects through the stages of design, procurement and construction/production.
A background in the defence sector is not a prerequisite as we welcome applicants from a broad spectrum of industries and sectors.

What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you will possess rounded experience of Project Controls Management and have expertise in at least 2 of the following essential criteria:
• Cost Control / Estimating
• Performance Management / EVM
• Project Risk and Risk Analysis
• Planning and Scheduling
• Project Delivery
It would benefit your application should be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• APM RPP, CCAB or a technical / business degree
