At Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S), we’re excited to be adding to the Ships HQ Engineering team and seeking a Maintenance and Reliability Engineer. This is a brilliant opportunity to be involved within reliability maintenance and provide technical guidance and delivery as part of our support to the Ships and Submarines of the Royal Navy. DE&S will provide the tools, advice and support needed to succeed in this role, so are therefore seeking a candidate with any engineering background who has the desire and skills to work within Maintenance and Reliability. Responsibilities

Your main roles and responsibilities will include:

Provide Engineering perspective, and subject matter expertise to provide assurance that maintenance strategies are fit for purpose.
Participate in identification, selection, evaluation, performance verification and demonstrations to help improve the reliability of equipment
Determine quality management and assurance approaches and ensure technical risks are understood and managed
Technical audit and assure maintenance and reliability deliverables from stakeholders and contractors
Manage engineering technical maintenance documentation and provide guidance for supporting delivery teams
Internal and external stakeholder management across DE&S and SDA, the Royal Navy and our support organisations, including some contract management.

What you will be assessed against

To be successful with your application you must demonstrate that you meet the following essential criteria:
• Level 4 qualification (or higher) in an Engineering or Science qualification or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience of developing and generating maintenance schedules or experience in maintenance or reliability engineering
• Stakeholder management experience

It would benefit your application if you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Demonstrable experience of applying maintenance and reliability techniques, for example, reliability centred maintenance
• Experience of working within a regulated industry, for example, aerospace

In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competencies and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
• Application of analytical techniques
• Improve engineering capability
• Making effective decisions
• Communicating and influencing
