The Project Management Function provides a pipeline of project professionals to deliver our complex programme of work. The expertise within Project Management includes: Project, Programme & Portfolio Management (P3M); Safety & Acquisition Lifecycle and Business Cases.

Working within the Air Domain as a Junior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in a variety of projects in the Hercules C-130J Aircraft project team. Working within the team of 45, your role will be interesting and varied, working alongside our industry partner to deliver modifications to keep the aircraft in service. You will help us ensure we deliver projects to agreed milestones, cost and quality working with stakeholders or contractors to deliver outcomes. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team from Logistics and Finance through to working with aircraft trials teams.

A bonus of being based on this site is you will have the opportunity to witness the direct output of your project delivery as this is where the Hercules C-130J is modified and flown from.

Responsibilities

Include but are not limited too:

• Managing your own portfolio of smaller projects; mainly focused on modifications, as well as assisting on the delivery of larger projects
• Engaging, managing and influencing stakeholders at all levels with regards to project scope and progression.
• Developing and agreeing budgets for projects, control forecasts and actual spend; ensuring projects hit the time/cost performance parameters and controlling
project delivery
• Lead and support briefings to the customer, Air Command
• Gathering a variety of data, validating information received and contributing to the development of management information reports
• Working and liaising with manufacturers, long-standing partners and Air Command for project delivery.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• Previous experience working within a project management environment
• 2 A-Levels Grade A*- D
• 5 GCSEs to include English Lang & Maths

It would benefit your application should be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:

• Working towards/hold APM Qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge of Agile delivery
