Job description
DE&S have opportunities to join the Information Management & Information Technology (IMIT) function as an Information Manager, on a 2 year fixed term agreement. You will join a team of 35 personnel overall, working in smaller teams of approximately 6 personnel.
You will be supporting a project to roll out, including the deployment and administration of new SharePoint sites and MS Teams to customers across DE&S. In this role, you will be delivery focused, working closely with customers and multiple stakeholders in a complex and fast moving environment.
Responsibilities
• Ensure information is being captured, stored, distributed, used, processed, retained and eventually disposed of, to meet the requirements of the law, MOD policy and guidance.
• Delivery of KIM (Knowledge and Information Management) projects to meet the needs of the business, considering relevant service agreements or standards.
• Provide advice and monitor where data is managed in accordance with regulatory acts and other relevant legislation.
• Identify information risks within the organisation, work with IT colleagues to mitigate information risk within solution designs.
• Brief stakeholders and non-technical colleagues on KIM processes and the service catalogue.
• Identify new innovative approaches to performing KIM activities and delivery relevant change and improvements to enhance the customers experience and technical capability.
• Develop the knowledge and capability of the organisation to enable and increase maturity of KIM skills.
• Maintain and update own knowledge of KIM to develop own capability and that of colleagues further.
• Active participation in IT Service Management community.
• Recruit, train and develop KIM staff to build capability within the Function.
• Fulfil Primary Delivery Manager responsibilities for your direct reports
• Perform Functional Delivery role to improve capability within the function and participate in other function improvement activities.
• Actively manage end user expectations to provide high levels of service

What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• Experience within Knowledge and Information Management
• Experience with stakeholder engagement
• Experience managing IT change and transformation projects/programmes
It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• PRINCE2/ APM PMQ/MSP or equivalent certification
• Educated to Degree level in an IT related area
• Working towards membership of relevant Professional body, e.g Chartered Institute for Library and Information Professions (CILIP)
