£26,350 – £30,655 per annum (plus benefits).

Job description

A technical professional is required to act as a corporate advisor within DE&S’ Chief Environment and Safety Office (CESO) at Abbey Wood, Bristol.

Responsibilities

To be successful, you must:
• Be forward-thinking and a good communicator who is able to work with a variety of stakeholders from different areas and levels of the business.
• Be able to present well in person as you’ll be a representative of DE&S.
• Be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the key elements of corporate environmental management with the ability to advise, plan and promote improvement in line with global, UK and MoD expectations.

To succeed in this assignment, you will need to:
• Support the delivery of effective management of statutory compliance commitments whilst championing continuous corporate improvement.
• Promote a single way of working to underpin the cohesive and coherent delivery of EP across all areas of DE&S’ responsibilities.
• Building constructive relationships with Delivery Partners, Lodgers and all Stakeholders on a multi occupancy site.
• Embed good behaviours and initiate activity to enhance the DE&S environmental culture by running and supporting events and campaigns for example World Environment Day.
• Assist with the development and review of corporate policy and documentation.
• Conduct checks, support corporate assurance activities and deliver guidance to facilitate improved performance.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:

• A relevant qualification, such as the NEBOSH Environmental Certificate (or equivalent at level 3 or above)
