We are looking for three engineering security analysts to support the ITS Cyber Team providing guidance and advice on areas such as information risk management; architecture development; security accreditation; threat analysis; cryptography and information technology assessment within agreed time-frames and budgets.

The Cyber Security team, within ITS, specifically provides specialist security and information assurance support to projects including the P-8A Poseidon, Chinook, Integrated Survey Fleet and Land based communication systems.

In addition to supporting the Delivery Team community, you may also be called upon to assist with the mitigation activity associated with the corporate Strategic Risk for Cyber.

You will have an excellent opportunity in this role to gain exposure to the wide breadth of skills and experience to aid personal development and progression within your career at DE&S to become a Consultant.

Responsibilities

You will utilise your excellent communication and influencing skills in order to manage internal and external stakeholders to deliver tasking against agreed budget and time frames.

You will also be responsible for building and maintaining a strong working relationship across a number of Delivery Teams and play a key part in networking and engagement across the wider defence security landscape.

You will provide specialist advice on the application of engineering process and compliance. This will include independent technical assurance services to support corporate risk mitigation.

You may also act as, or support the role of a Security Assurance Coordinator (SAC) for a variety of projects and be a point of contact for information risk management.

What you will be assessed against

To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• An Engineering or Science qualification with the ability to join a relevant professional institute (i.e. CIISP or BCS) OR suitable and relevant experience
• Security or Information Risk Management awareness
• An understanding of the security fundamentals (confidentiality/integrity/availability)
• Engineering Systems / IT knowledge (software/hardware/operating principles)
• Demonstrable experience of stakeholder management effective communication methods

It would benefit your application should you be able to demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
• Knowledge of defence Equipment and Systems
• Knowledge and application of ICT/Security/Defence standards e.g. JSP/NIST/ ISO27001
• Knowledge of evolving digital technology/applications e.g. AI/Digital twins/Quantum computing/Machine Learning, etc.
• CISMP qualified
