Corporate Services offers a challenging and stimulating variety of work in both delivery and support teams. The function utilises the expertise of eight specialisms that collectively enable the operational day-to-day running of the business to ensure that DE&S/SDA delivers its objectives and maintains compliance with the requirements of being part of a Department of State. We cover: Business Support; Comms, Media & Marketing; Infrastructure & Estate Management; Policy Profession; Sales & Disposals; Occupational Health, Safety & Environment; Quality Management; and Security.
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Business Support Manager to join the team on-site at Defence Munitions Plymouth.
As Business Support Manager you will manage a small team responsible for all administrative tasks, as well as assisting with the security of the office including IT security systems. You will be key in managing business communications and managing Microsoft SharePoint, whilst working and liaising with building control and numerous contractors.
This is very much a customer facing role, building strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders. Due to the nature of this position and responsibility you will be required to work continuously based on site and therefore this role does not offer homeworking.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include:
• Acting as the Assistant Security Officer for the establishment.
• Be the Business Continuity Lead for the site.
• Act as the IT Security Officer.
• Act as the Local Security Officer (IT & Telephones).
• Act as the Authorised Demander (IT & Telephones).
• Manage SharePoint and the team site.
• Focal Point for all Corporate Communications.
• Management of establishment contracts.
• Documentation Control. Effective arrangements for receipt, recording and distribution of controlled documents (hard copy and electronic formats).
• Attend Management meetings, (Minutes secretary)
• Oversee the Flexible Working Hours system.
• Act as a member of the establishment’s emergency planning team.
• Act as a Building Controller.
• Estate Management
• Training – Oversee mandatory and other training.
• Primary Delivery Manager for junior staff.
What you will be assessed against
To be found successful you must demonstrate the following essential criteria:
• A minimum of a NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Business Administration and Management or equivalent qualification or suitable relevant experience.
• Experience of working within an administrative role.
• Experience in leading a team or managing staff.
• Excellent and demonstrable IT skills particularly Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communicator.
